Infrastructure
At the core of our mission is a single key aspect that drives every decision, sustainability.
Long-Lasting Impacts
We believe in creating an impact that is widespread and long-lasting. With that in mind, SANSE operates in a manner that prioritizes this concept, and at the forefront of that, are our projects that aim to improve the infrastructure of Ban Lien.
We work closely with the school and representatives of Bản Liền to target specific areas that have the potential to foster an enduring change in the commune. This includes directing our funds into the construction of water wells, fences, roofs and garages for the elementary and middle school. We have also donated computers to the school’s library with hopes of instituting information technology infrastructure in the region.
By expanding and improving the area’s infrastructure, SANSE assists in accelerating the school’s pursuit of being a national standard school. Once they are recognized as such, they will receive more funding from the local government, which would ultimately be reinvested into the student’s education.
Water Wells
One of the first projects that SANSE underwent was in the construction of a water well inside the elementary and middle school. The well was stationed next to the dining area, which allowed quick access for the students to clean, drinkable water, as well as for the teachers and staff to cook food, grow vegetables and general sanitation. In addition, the construction signified the first of many projects that we planned in collaboration with the school, and was therefore commemorated with the SANSE logo inscribed into the well.
RoofS
Our second large project in Ban Lien is with the kindergarten school within the area. The roof oversees the courtyard that connects the classrooms with the canteen area, library, and playground, blocking out the intense heat of the summer day and pouring rainfall of the spring season. Furthermore, the roof also ticks the necessary infrastructural boxes that would recognize the kindergarten as a standardized school, facilitating more funding beyond SANSE.
Medical Station
In terms of our work with the medical station, our focus was not only on the actual physical structure, but on the resources that they have available as well. This meant first installing the required lightings and supplying the chairs and tables that are necessary. Secondly, and more importantly, we equipped the station with the medical tools that it needed to support the commune, especially during the pandemic. This meant providing PPE, hand sanitizers, and thermometers, among other basic medical equipment.
Partnership
We have also partnered with Minh Tri, an export-based garment company in Vietnam, to supply and deliver face masks to the commune in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in this vulnerable region, where the closest hospital can be hundreds of kilometres away.
